Panama City "Hot Wheels"
&
Tyndell Air Force Base
Something happened this weekend that I have never seen before in TSR history
(that I remember). That is that every TSR member that entered a car at the
Panama City Hot Wheels car show WIN. Every one of us got either a 1st or 2nd or
a 3rd place. Pretty amazing -- not only that but TSR also won the Hard-luck
story. In brief, we were all at the Flying J just milling around when Dan
mentioned something about his alternator. Lee goes over and said Hey what does
"this wire do" and pulled a wire off the back of Dan's alternator. So they
fixed that and we were on the road headed to meet Leon and Doris. When we
arrived Lee opened his hood and Dale said "Dad you need to fix this wire on the
back of your alternator" and pulled it out. So here we go again, deja vu all
over again. They fixed that and off we went. It was a great cruise. We all
won some door prizes and had a great time. Also, TSR received a third place in
club participation (the first and second places were given to local Panama City
clubs)
Afterwards, we all headed to Tyndell Air Force base to spend the night and help
them with their 4th annual car show on Sunday. As you may remember Dan
Stallings at the last meeting had said that the club had been ask to supply
judges for their show. Several TSR members had volunteered. So after a really
great dinner we all hit the sack. Sunday morning found us at the Tyndell Air
Force Base setting up our team and developing a game plan. There were over 80
cars and super nice weather. It was hard to judge so many nice cars, but we did
and the staff at Tyndell gave TSR a very nice "thank you Plaque," I will ask the
folks at Ryan's steak to please mount it on the wall with all the other plaques
the club has received over the years.
I also, understand that several TSR members cruised to Dothan, Alabama for a car
show. I haven't heard yet but I'm sure there was a good show and I hope the TSR
members did well. Maybe someone can tell the club about the Dothan show on
Thursday.
